Room 1 - Double (or Triple)

Oh my, it’s hard to describe how much we love this room. It’s like a true Scandinavian summer heaven all year round, with a private balcony. Yes, the balcony will be a very cold place to enjoy your morning coffee in winter, but in return it makes for a perfect spot to watch the northern lights - without even leaving the house!

There’s a view over our small garden and the sea, and you’ll see the mountains on the other side of the sound right from your bed when you wake up in the morning.

The room is equipped with a small desk, closet, bookshelf and room for an extra bed. Please note that the extra bed that is there at the moment is not a very comfy one, but replacing this with a more comfortable one is on our to-do list.

The walls are covered with the gorgeously beautiful Josef Frank wallpaper «Vårcklockor» («Spring flowers») , combined with a soothing sea blue over your bed.

Room 2 - Double (or Triple)

As everyone who has traveled Northern Norway knows, the mountains around here have this habit of running straight into the sea below. That was our inspiration when we refurbished this room - we wanted it to be a Fisherman’s mountain dream, with some sunshine on top. It’s hard to describe the thrill with witch we mounted the amazing - and to be honest we’re quite happy with the result!

Northern Norwegian mountains can be quite chilly, but fear not - there’s a cozy wooden stove in this room where you can light a fire and then snuggle up in the bed in front of it. True story! (Wood is not included in the room price, but if you want to use the stove just let us know and we’ll be happy to help you fetch some wood for a small additional charge.) As in all the other rooms in the house, there is also electrical heating so you are by no means dependent on scout skills to keep warm.

Otherwise the room is equipped with a built-in closet with drawers, a couple of bookshelves, a quite comfy chair-turns-into-bed armchair and a cozy desk nook that we built ourselves. The latter has just enough room for your laptop.

There is a Norwegian children books series about the small and charming sea monster Ruffen, and one of them is about Ruffen and The Flying Dutchman - that old sailor who is cursed to sail the seven seas forever. Ruffen meets him and - with extraordinary kindness and courage - ultimately saves him so that he can set his foot on land again, in the last blissful harbour where only happiness reigns.

That Fisherman’s paradise was what we had in mind when we refurbished this room. The wallpaper, simply called «Paradise», is designed by Josef Frank, and the wooden walls are painted with two shades of calm green.

The room is small but has everything you need - desk, bookshelves, a sofa and a built-in closet. The sofa can be transformed into an extra bed if necessary. Though if you travel with someone you love enough to share a 120 cm wide bed there’s no reason this small paradise couldn’t function as a tiny but affordable double.

Room 4 - Single

If Room 3 is a Fisherman’s paradise, then this one is a Fisherman’s heaven. Quite frankly, how often do you sleep with soothing swallows in the ceiling above your head? Not often enough we’d say - or at least that would be our own answer. Love-love-love this room!

This room is airy, light and quite big for a single. There’s a second bed in the room that is used as a sofa if you’re alone and as (you guessed it) a bed if you’re traveling with a friend (or you could of course share the 120 cm wide bed instead if you prefer). Also there’s a closet with hangers, a drawer and a desk.

The room is on the top floor and is the nearest neighbour to the living room and kitchen - a blessing or a curse depending on your preferences. We love the proximity to the living room’s balcony, sea view and social life and that the kitchen is also close at hand, but keep in mind that other people will most likely spend much of their time right outside your door and the walls are not exactly sound proof (due to the old age of the house - not much to do about that unfortunately). That said, 99,8% of our guests are super-duper nice, considerate of others and very likely new friends of yours!
