How do you want to get here?

  • By taxi [+]
    Yes, this is convenient - definitely the quickest and easiest option. The quickest and easiest option. It will take around 10 minutes from the airport and cost somewhere between 150 and 200 NOK. Taxis will (hopefully!) be waiting outside the airport exit. If you need to call them the number is . The address is Strandvegen 84.
    Access is easier from Bjørnøygata, you can ask the driver to stop there instead.
  • By airport bus [+]
    Definitely a convenient choice, and cheaper than a taxi - at least if you are traveling alone. It’s NOK 80 per person (NOK 120 for a return ticket within 30 days). Get off at the stop called Polaria (the first stop after the tunnel), then walk ca 5 minutes to the house. Timetables here.

    From the Polaria bus stop it is a 8-10 minute walk to our house - walk to your right when you face the sea at the bus stop. Walk straight ahead all the way (take the road to the left when it divides right after the Tromsø Taxi sign). Walk past some residential buildings on your left hand side, past our parking lot and you're there - the house is located on the lower side of the road, just opposite a big yellow industrial building (TINE).
  • By regular bus from the airport [+]
    Good choice, great way to save some cash! And the planet, too. Also, honestly it’s only a tiny bit less convenient than the airport bus - you have to walk 100 meters more or so.

    To get here by regular bus you want bus no 42. The price for a ticket is NOK 35 if you buy the ticket at the 7-eleven kiosk at the airport (directly outside the arrival hall, you couldn't miss it) or NOK 50 if you buy the ticket on the bus. (NB! If you plan to take the bus more than this once, buying a 1-day pass (NOK 90) or a 7-day pass (NOK 250) will quickly save you some cash) You'll find the bus across the parking lot in front of the airport, down on the little street below it there.

    Alternatively, you can take 40 or 42 from the airport and get off in Giæverbukta (the first stop after the airport) and from there change to no 34 (in the direction city centre). From the 34 bus, get off at the stop called Kysten or Bjørnøygata, from which it's just a short walk to the house. The house is located half way between the two stops.   • By regular bus or by foot from city centre [+]
    Gotta love public transport, and your own legs! Take bus no 34 from Sjøgata (between the Prostneset bus station and the Radisson SAS hotel) or outside Café Circa in Storgata, get off at the Bjørnøygata or Kysten stop (the house is located appr midway between the two).

    But it's only 3-4 stops so we think it's easier just to walk, it will take you around 15 min from Prostneset / the Tourist Information. Follow Storgata south (past the Mack Brewery and Polaria) and just walk straight all the way (take the road to the left when it divides right after the Tromsø Taxi). Walk past some residential buildings on your left hand side, past our parking lot and you're there - the house is located on the lower side of the road, just opposite a big yellow industrial building (TINE).
  • By car [+]
    Great - and we do have parking! There’s a parking lot two houses closer to the city centre. It is a square parking lot intended for 4 cars, and our spot is the one in the corner that is closest to the sea and closest to the city centre. Please DO NOT park your car in any of the other spots without our explicit permission, as this will make our neighbors unhappy. Also, if you come by car it is very important that you tell us beforehand since we just have one spot that's ours and we need to coordinate the use of this one. First to reserve it, first to get it :)
  • When you get here [+]
    It's a small red house (soon to turn yellow!) on the lower side of the road, in between a white one and a blue/greenish one, and on the opposite side of the road from a big yellow industrial building (TINE). There’s a big sign on the wall reading «Tromsø Bed & Books». Walk down a small stairway and you'll find the entrance on the other side of the house, facing the sea. Welcome!
